Aon appoints Joe Liang to lead Greater China reinsurance

He will work from Hong Kong and report to Asia Pacific chief Rupert Moore.

Aon has appointed Joe Liang as executive chairman of Reinsurance for Greater China, effective immediately, as the company strengthens its reinsurance business in the region.

Based in Hong Kong, Liang will report to Rupert Moore, CEO of Asia Pacific for Reinsurance. 

He brings more than 34 years of experience in the insurance industry and will help expand Aon’s reinsurance capabilities, support innovation and drive growth across Greater China.

Before joining Aon, Liang held senior leadership roles in underwriting, reinsurance, risk management and actuarial functions in China and the United States. 

His previous positions include executive roles at SAIC Insurance Limited and Ping An P&C Insurance Company. He is a fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society and the Chinese Actuarial Society.
